Devised by solicitor Nicholas Sharp and arts consultant Sheena Etches, and developed through consultations with artists, galleries and commissioners, The contracts toolkit is intended to create a thinking and learning process around professional arrangements, informed by the various contexts for contemporary visual arts practice.
As The contracts toolkit can only provide an introduction to the contractual process, artists are encouraged to take advice from legal experts and to ensure they are fully aware of the conditions and their responsibilities before entering into a formal agreement.
